I'm going to be emailing Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, requesting they re-think their unfriendly attitude towards Bitcoin related apps/technology. Who's with me?

I posted this in the Gliph thread. Steve Jobs, and even Tim Cook have been known to personally (or at least direct their assistants to answer on their behalf) respond to emails.

Apple has been increasingly unfair to Bitcoin apps and wallets (Blockchain, Coinbase, and now Gliph). What the hell? That's not cool.. and they're definitely not looking "forward" and "fostering innovation" the way they used to. This is the same company that took out that Superbowl ad in the 80s? This is the same company that came out with iTunes as a compromise between complete piracy (Napster anyone?) and mp3/digital music downloading vis a vis the dinosaur record companies. This is the same company that.. well you get my point.

So. WTF. And they're being hard on Bitcoin? Where's the vision? Apple and Bitcoin have a LOT of synergy and potential to incorporate the BTC protocol within their monolithic product line (iTunes, iPhones, iPads, Apple Tv's etc). Not to mention apps.

Yes, some say it's because they have their own iWallet in the making. So? Why can't Bitcoin be a part of that?

Please take a few minutes to email Apple's CEO, Tim Cook @ tcook@apple.com and speak up about this. We (Apple consumers) pay their salaries.

I just emailed him. You do the same. If he gets enough emails, he'll have to answer at least ONE of them, right? And even if his answer is "Apple has no plans to implement or be friendly towards Bitcoin at this moment", at least thats an answer. And then the follow up question is "Why not, Mr. Cook?"

Whether you love Apple, hate Apple, are neutral on Apple, or have shifted from one POV to another.. you can't deny that Apple allowing Bitcoin related technology into their ecosystem will have a widespread affect on Bitcoin adoption. And (aside from the trolls), that's what we all want here, right? So whatever your thoughts are.. let him know.
